The organisation responsible for processing your personal data is the association ‘Colectivo Ca-Minando Fronteras’, with Tax ID number G85593564 and registered offices at C/ Paseo de las Acacias 11, 6º izquierda, which is listed in the National Registry of Associations held by the Ministry of Interior of the Government of Spain, Group 1, Section 1, National Number 592584.

What personal data do we collect and why?

We may process your personal data for the following purposes:

1. In general terms, to fulfil the purposes of Ca-minando Fronteras and pursue its objectives.
2. To provide social, legal and medical support to migrant groups who are struggling to integrate, refugees and asylum seekers and their family members.
3. To organise activities to help and support the aforementioned groups.
4. To search for and identify deceased and/or found people wherever possible.

• We have the parties’ consent to process their personal data for these purposes, with the exception of searching for and identifying missing people, where data are processed on the grounds of the legitimate interest of the family members or friends who request the search or identification.
• We may transfer personal data to certain public institutions and agencies when their participation is needed for us to deliver our help and support, as well as in cases where there is a legal obligation to transfer these data.
• In some cases, we may transfer data internationally to partner organisations located outside the European Economic Area that assist us with our search and identification work. In these cases, we have signed the relevant data protection agreements with the receiving organisations to ensure an appropriate level of safeguards.
• We will store your personal data for the minimum period necessary to deliver our help or support.

Comments

When you post comments on our website and identify yourself as the author, your identifying details will be visible to other visitors to the website along with the information you have posted. We may also obtain statistical information and information relating to your activity as a user in accordance with the Cookie Policy. We use Gravatar to identify users and manage comments. • You give your consent to this use of your data when you post a comment.
• With the exception of Gravatar, we will not transfer your personal data to any other organisation unless we are legally obliged to do so.

Media

If you post images to the website, you must avoid uploading the accompanying location data (GPS EXIF). Visitors to the website may download and extract location data from the images on the website.

If you have contacted us or requested information:

Cookies

If you post a comment on our website, you can choose to store your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience as it allows you to save time filling in your personal details the next time you post a comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long will we store your data?

If you post a comment, your comment and its metadata will be stored indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve subsequent comments automatically instead of keeping them in a queue for moderation.

If any users register on our website, we will also store the personal information that they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time, with the exception of their user name. The website administrators can also see and edit this information.

• Portability: you are entitled to receive the personal data that you have provided and that have been obtained from your contractual relationship with Colectivo Ca-Minando Fronteras in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, suitable for use by another data controller.
• Restriction of processing: you may ask to restrict the processing of your personal data:

1. if you consider the processing of your data to be unlawful but do not wish us to delete your data.
2. if you require your data to file a complaint and the data storage period has expired.
3. if you do not want your data to be processed while Colectivo Ca-Minando Fronteras responds to your concerns over the accuracy of your data or your exercising of the right to object.

You can exercise these rights or request further information by emailing info@caminandofronteras.org and attaching a photocopy of your identification card to your request. If you wish, you may request a form to fill in to exercise your rights.

If you do not receive a response or if you consider that your request has not been appropriately handled or that your data have been processed unlawfully, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.agpd.es).

Data security

To guarantee the security of your personal data, Colectivo Ca-Minando Fronteras has adopted the necessary safeguards to mitigate information security risks and avoid the alteration, loss or unauthorised use of your data, although it is important to bear in mind that there is no such thing as complete security.

We also work with third party service providers who may have access to your personal data and will process these data on behalf of Colectivo Ca-Minando Fronteras as part of their service provision. In these cases, service providers are subject to strict selection criteria to ensure that they comply with their data protection obligations and we undertake to sign the necessary data processing contracts with them, which will impose the following obligations, among others: to apply appropriate technical and organisational measures; to process personal data for the agreed purposes and only in accordance with our documented instructions; and to delete or return the data to us once the service has been delivered.

We also inform you that all our staff, regardless of the phase of data processing in which they are involved, are committed to handling personal data with the utmost care and confidentiality.

Modifications to this data protection policy

Ca-Minando Fronteras may modify this data protection policy in order to adapt it to current legislation or to changes in our processing of personal data. If we are legally required to do so, we will inform you of any modifications with the necessary advance warning.
